According to one study, men with large penises and clipped pubic hair are seen as more outgoing

Men are often told “the bigger the better” when it comes to penis size.

And a new study suggests this may be true, at least in terms of perceived personality.

Researchers from New Mexico Highlands University say men with large penises and clipped pubic hair are seen as more attractive, outgoing and open to new experiences, while those with smaller members are seen as more neurotic.

“This research demonstrates that the genital aspect can contribute to socially shared implicit theories about people, whether or not these impressions reflect the true personality of the person being evaluated,” the researchers wrote in their study.

What your penis says about you

Small

  • More neurotic
  • Worse in bed
  • Less open to new experiences

Great

  • More attractive
  • More sexually active
  • More outgoing
  • More conscientious

In the study, the team set out to evaluate how people perceive men’s personalities based on their penis alone.

Writing in Sexuality & Culture magazine, the team, led by Thomas R. Brooks, said, “Dating app users are likely to experience a high frequency of viewing sexually explicit material from potential partners prior to a physical encounter.

“The present study aimed to investigate what information is inferred from the image of a zero-knowledge penis.”

The team enrolled 106 participants (80% women) for the study, who were shown photos of 24 penises that varied in girth, length, and amount of pubic hair.

After viewing each photo, participants were asked to answer 11 questions:

  1. This is a prototype / stereotypical penis.
  2. This is an attractive penis.
  3. This person is sexually active.
  4. This person would be fine in bed.
  5. This person is outgoing, enthusiastic.
  6. This person is reliable, self-disciplined.
  7. This person is anxious, easily irritable.
  8. This person is open to new, complex experiences.
  9. This person is understanding, warm.
  10. Would this person be an active member of sex (please) or a passive member of sex (pillow princess)?
  11. How many sexual partners do you think this person has had?

The results revealed key links between penis size, pubic hair, and perceived personality traits.

In terms of length, short penises were associated with more neuroticism, while men with long penises were seen as more attractive, more sexually active, better in bed, more outgoing, more conscientious, and more open to new experiences.

When it came to girth, men with tight penises were seen as more neurotic.

Conversely, those with large penises were perceived as more sexually active, better in bed, more outgoing, more open to new experiences, more pleasurable, and had more sexual partners.

Finally, it seems that when it comes to pubic hair, cutting is the best option for men.

“Penises with clipped pubic hair were perceived as more prototypical and attractive,” the researchers wrote.

“However, although they were perceived to be more conscientious than uncut pubic hair, they did not differ significantly from fully shaved pubic hair.”

Overall, the findings suggest that men’s impressions can be formed solely on the basis of their penis.

“Although most of the research has prioritized facial images and biographies of potential partners, the current findings go a step further to investigate how penile images can contribute to the holistic perception of the person within digital spaces.” , the researchers said.

Now they hope to conduct further studies where men’s personalities are actually evaluated to see how they compare to perceptions based on the penis alone.

WOMEN PREFER A BIGGER PENIS FOR ONE NIGHT THAN A LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIP

Women prefer a larger penis for a one-night stand than for a long-term relationship, according to a 2016 study.

Dr Nicole Prause, a UCLA neuroscientist specializing in sexual desire, created 33 3D printed phalluses, which were placed in a trash can.

Seventy-five women were asked to select two ideal penises from the 3D printed penis basket: one they would prefer for a one-night-only relationship and one for a long-term partner.

The largest in the basket was just under 9 inches and the smallest just over 4 inches.

The study found that the maximum size for a long-term boyfriend’s erect penis was 6.3 inches in length and 4.8 inches in girth.

For a single night, the average ideal was 6.4 inches in length and 5 inches in circumference.

Both are larger than the average penis length and girth in both the UK and the US.

In the UK, the average erect penis is between 5.7 inches long and 4.9 inches in circumference.

In America, the average erect penis is just under 5.6 inches in length and 4.8 inches in girth.

Contrary to received wisdom, the study overwhelmingly showed that although women prefer slightly larger than average penises, they are more concerned with girth.

It’s something Dr. Prause has come to observe in her work, and she told Broadly that the obsession with length is somewhat disconcerting given her studies and research.

“Science has consistently shown that girth is a stronger predictor of female preference and satisfaction,” she said.

“It may be that surgeries to increase length tend to have better results, so men focus on length as something they are more likely to influence.

‘Limited to physical attractiveness only, many health indicators that are at least somewhat under our control influence women’s attraction. This includes things like weight, muscularity, pale skin and acne.’
