Alex Jones yells “I’m done apologizing” to Sandy Hook’s parents crying in court

Alex Jones shouted that he had “finished apologizing” for spreading lies that the Sandy Hook massacre was a “hoax” as the families of some of the victims watched crying in court.

The courtroom plunged into chaos on Thursday when the right-wing extremist took a stand in his defamation case and refused to acknowledge any responsibility for causing a decade of harassing the victims’ families.

“I’ve already said I’m sorry hundreds of times. And I stopped apologizing, ”she shouted from across the room.

The far-right conspiracy theorist – who spent much of the process mocking the process of his Infowars program – continued to complain that “people think I killed the children.”

The dramatic scene took place when Christopher Mattei, a lawyer for the victims’ families, confronted Mr. Jones with the people he accused of being “actors in the crisis” almost as soon as their children and loved ones were murdered.

Jurors were shown heartbreaking footage of Robbie Parker speaking to reporters one day after the 2012 massacre.

Mr. Parker’s six-year-old daughter, Emilie, was one of 26 students and staff members murdered in the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

She held back her tears as she paid homage to her little girl who “made the world a better place” for having been there.

“My daughter Emilie would be one of the first to give all her love and support to the victims,” she said.

“Because that was the kind of person he was.”

He told reporters about the last moments he had with Emilie on the morning of the massacre.

After the jurors saw the heavy footage, Mr. Mattei pointed to Mr. Parker in the courtroom and asked Mr. Jones if “Robbie Parker is real.”

The right-wing extremist admitted “yes”, after spending years arguing that the parents of the murder victims were “actors in the crisis” whose children never existed.

“You’ve been putting a target on his back for years, haven’t you? … just like you did with every single parent and loved one sitting here,” Mattei said.

Mr. Jones denied this and tried to argue that he did not specifically name family members.

When Mattei told Jones that “these are real people”, the Infowars host launched into a wild outburst about “liberals” and “Iraqis” before asking if he was “in China”.

“Just like all the Iraqis you liberals have killed and loved. You’re amazing. Turn emotions on and off as you like, it’s just the ambulance chase, “he railed.

Mr. Mattei told the conspiracy theorist to “show some respect” while the families of the victims killed in the 2012 massacre sat in the courtroom listening to his diatribe.

“You have families in court who have lost children, sisters, wives, mothers,” Mattei said.

Undaunted by the statement, Mr. Jones lost his temper and went on the defensive, vowing he would no longer apologize for the pain he caused and doubling that he “legitimately” believed his lies when he first uttered them.

“It’s a wrestling session, are we in China? I’ve already apologized hundreds of times and I’m done saying I’m sorry. I didn’t generate it, I wasn’t the first person to say it … but I legitimately thought it might have been staged, so I support it. And I won’t apologize for that, ”she said furiously.

“I’ve already apologized to parents over and over again, I’m not apologizing to you. I don’t apologize to you. ”

As Mr. Jones and Mr. Mattei clashed more and more, Mr. Jones’s attorney began to repeatedly shout “objection” to the ruckus.

Judge Barbara Bellis ended up warning both attorneys in a sidebar, before telling Mr. Jones to “respect trial” by reminding him that the courtroom “is not your show”.

“This is not a press conference, this is clearly not your show. You have to respect the process, “she told him.
