Lady Gaga confirms the role in “Joker 2” with a very “cheeky” tweet.

It was previously rumored that the singer would star in the sequel, “Joker: Folie à Deux”, the title of which refers to a shared psychosis. He confirmed his participation on Thursday via a tweet that included the music of Irving Berlin’s “Cheek to Cheek”.

The original “Joker” film was released in 2019. The sequel, slated for October 2024, will be a musical, obviously leveraging Gaga’s strengths.

Variety has speculated that Gaga could play a version of Harley Quinn’s character, but no one connected to the film has confirmed whether that character will be in the film.

Margot Robbie has already played Harley Quinn in three movies, but Phoenix’s version of the Joker exists in a different continuity than the Joker in those movies (played by Jared Leto), so Gaga wouldn’t step on Robbie’s feet.
