How this S’pore based matchmaking app helps you hang out with top level players

Anisa Hassan, 50, had a thriving experience in journalism. She was sought by the then Television Corporation of Singapore (TCS) – now Mediacorp – for the role of producer and host, and later became one of 10 hosts to kick off Channel NewsAsia.

Despite her success, 2003 was the year she chose to move away from Channel NewsAsia’s “lights, camera, action”.

He later dipped his feet into the matchmaking industry in 2004, bringing the American dating franchise “It’s Just Lunch” to Singapore.

When the brand ended its term in 2017, it founded Date High Flyers International (DHF), which offers personalized matchmaking services serving a niche market: professionals, entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals (HNWIs) who have marriage in mind.

Never imagining herself on this path, she defines herself as a casual entrepreneur.

I was looking for growth and an opportunity to stretch. Entrepreneurship was the furthest thing from my mind: I didn’t come from an entrepreneurial background, nor did I think I had the business sense to create or start a business.

Personalized meetings for a select few

The proliferation of dating apps has many singles assuming matchmakers are outdated and an expense that can do away with it.

Anisa acknowledges that independent dating has worked on many levels. However, she points out that there are time-hungry people who appreciate the value of the time, effort and attention that matchmakers are able to provide.

It can be daunting to check profiles after profiles that don’t know someone’s background, real intentions, and goal. Matchmakers take away those guesses. Also, there are dating patterns that people could be blinded to if we don’t step in to get attention or that we turn away from.

Paying a high dollar for a luxury matchmaking service means greater transparency and a higher level of compatibility that can only happen because the middle person has the best interests of both parties at heart.

He adds that he doesn’t have a particular matchmaking game. Instead, it all starts with a private conversation and an intention to serve if the requirements are within his reach. She is adamant in providing personalized service, thus extending her time and energy to only a select group of individuals.

DHF has two categories: Luxe and Black Label subscriptions. Luxe is a local subscription where customers are matched with others based in Singapore. Membership accounts here are managed by Anisa’s team of trained matchmakers.

Meanwhile, Black Label is personally managed by Anisa and is limited to 50 clients, usually men between 40 and 60 years old. This registration opens the matches within the local and international database. Additionally, she personally searches for other candidates for them and provides her clients with personalized coaching on how to best navigate the dating world.

While dealing with the wealthy involves handling a multitude of privacy issues, DHF ensures that all personal information remains within the private domain. They never release surnames, residential addresses, workplaces, etc., ensuring that customer information is not easily searchable.

Anisa’s clientele includes professionals, including doctors, lawyers, bankers, academics and senior business executives. About 40 percent are entrepreneurs and there are others that include political and public figures as well as members of royal families.

Half of these customers are referred by other customers, business associates and friends.

According to Anisa, she works on a fixed basis, typically six months to a year, and prices range between S $ 1,000 and S $ 5,500 per month.

A multi-step process to find love

The selection process is rigorous. Once a person is registered with DHF, the team arranges a pre-screening process with the prospect over the phone or via Zoom.

We ask them a series of questions to ascertain their overall goals, academic background and professions. We will also look at their parameters that they want us to work on.

If their requirements are reasonable and we are able to meet those requirements, only then will we offer a face-to-face interview with the prospect. During the interview, a prospect can expect a more in-depth interview where details such as family history, relationship history, and the ideal partner are fully discussed.

Subsequently, the first introduction is exclusively organized by DHF as it includes logistical arrangements, pre-date coaching and post-date feedback. Additionally, couples can arrange meetings on their own.

Complete your services with technology

Over the past two decades in the industry, Anisa and her team have matched over 1,000 couples who have moved to get married or are still in long-term committed relationships. The overall success rate varies between 60 and 85%.

Moving forward, Anisa says DHF will continue to remain a personalized matchmaking service as she sees it as filling a niche gap in the industry. The human touch aspect of the company also makes every success story more meaningful and meaningful to you and your team.

She has since entered the digital space with her app, “Let’s Joompa”. She specifically targets Muslim singles in Southeast Asia and helps make her business more “mass market friendly”. Since its gradual launch in Malaysia in 2019, the app has garnered over 15,000 downloads so far.
