WI vs IND 2022 | Ravichandran Ashwin’s choice is confused, Kris Srikkanth opines

Former Indian cricketer Kris Srikkanth said Ravichandran Ashwin’s inclusion against the West Indies is confusing as he has been in and out of the team constantly. Srikkanth also added that it is strange to see Ashwin being banned from the British series and then being played against the West Indies.

India are facing the West Indies in a five-game T20I series currently and won the third game on Tuesday. It was a dominant win for India with their batting performance. They are preparing for the next T20 World Cup, so the combination of teams becomes important. With too many options in the spin department, there have been doubts as to who will choose India for the highlight event.

One of the players who has been on and off the team regularly is Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin was kept for the New Zealand home series but was later dropped. After a whopping eight month hiatus, he was included in the West Indies series.

Former Indian cricketer Srikkanth explained that he was completely confused about Ashwin’s inclusion in the ongoing West Indies series.

“That’s a big question. As for Ashwin, I’m totally confused. Why wasn’t he dropped out, then why he wasn’t there, then why he didn’t play in the T20s in England and then suddenly why he’s in the T20s for the West Indies? He’s confused. for all of us. Because your first spinner is Jadeja. The second is Chahal o Axar Patel or Ashwin or there will be a spare spinner. Of these four only two will go. Ideally … I don’t know Ashwin … it could be because of his all-round abilities. But my first option would be Chahal because he’s the wrist spinner, ”Srikkanth explained to Fan Code.

Ashwin has chosen three wickets in the current series against the West Indies.
